Based on the price and the transclucent nature of the trays, I settled on this one and am really glad I did. My seeds (from the Sprout House, ordered on Amazon) sprout in 4 days, growing upright in this sprouter. My sprouts really flourished with this sprouter. This compared to a mason jar, which yielded me significantly fewer, less vigorous sprouts.I love the convenience and functionality of this. It's got a tiny footprint-- This is a must since I have literally four sq ft of counter space in my apartment's kitchenette. This unit won my approval because it was compact, attractive, and transparent and towered vertically.After using this sprout growing system [which I purchased two when ordering] has function very well. They are easy to clean and switch trays around without disturbing other trays. When sprouts are growing their roots sometimes navigate toward the drain holes and root through--this is not a problem--you can easily give the root a gentle nudge upward and lift it out of the way. Other than roots or some very small seeds closing off the drainage they are perfect. The transparency permits one to view the action of sprouts as they grow and monitor the water level. Drainage on an eight tier stack takes approximately 15 minutes to navigate through to the collection container.
