The sprouts have all been sprouting healthy and lively. And such a variety! There are spicy, mild, beany varieties, grassy varieties, and my family has loved them all. The only ones that grow very slowly are the onion/garlic mix, but as long as they are kept warm and moist, they do grow. I suspect that onion and garlic just grow more slowly than the other varieties, and that there's nothing wrong with the mix.

My husband wanted alfalfa, and I wanted to try new things. My young kids wanted mild, the grownup kids wanted spicy. This kit was a great way to accommodate everyone. So far we've grown an amount that would have cost at least $30 if we'd bought sprouts in the store, and we've barely made a dent in our seed collection. Growing sprouts really can be a great savings of money. Add to that the fact that this doesn't cost more per pound than the non-sampler seeds, so you get to try everything without having to pay extra for the privilege.

If you are just getting your feet wet with sprouting, this is probably the best sampler at the best price on Amazon.

I've used not quite half of the packages, and all have sprouted well. There are a few 'hard' non-sproutable elements here and there, but, overall, I think this is a great way to get your confidence in sprouting. The yield is fast, prolific, and the selection in this set is very good, too. (I've not yet sprouted any of the wheat, only the beans and greens.) It's very satisfying to sit down to a meal of fresh bean/green sprouts that you've grown yourself, and know that they are fresh, free of chlorine and other additives (I recently read that even organic sprouts are sprayed *after the fact* with chlorine to keep them fresher longer, though I don't know if that is true, it wouldn't surprise me), and know that you are doing right by yourself.

This package has gone up in price about two dollars or so since I purchased it, less than 2 months ago... Read more

I am transitioning from a Vegan Diet to a Raw Vegan Diet. Sprouts are the best food source for vitamins, minerals and nutrients. I am pleased with the sample mix of sprout seeds but would have benefited even more with a time table and soaking instructions (if applicable) for each package. There were a great variety of sprout mixes but I wasn't sure how long to allow them to grow before harvesting.

The onion/garlic mix required soaking. After the third day, the other seeds showed growth but not the garlic/onion mix. I decided to soak them for 8 hours on the fourth day. It is now the 3rd day after soaking and seven days from the start. They have finally begun to sprout.

I remember sprouting onion seeds in preparation for gardening outside two years ago. All of the vegetable seeds were set in vermicute, covered and sprayed twice a day. The onion (spring onion) seeds were very slow to sprout. I was very worried but they eventually sprouted and grew up nicely once... Read more
